Blood donation following acupuncture

This information comes from the NHS Blood and Transplant website, and is correct as of the 14 February 2018. As from the 15th February 2010 certificates are NO LONGER REQUIRED.

You may give blood if your acupuncture treatment has either been performed by a qualified health care worker CURRENTLY in the NHS, or in an NHS hospital.

Or, if your acupuncture treatment has been performed outside the NHS, by a qualified Healthcare Professional registered with one of the following Councils – this includes Registered Osteopaths

General Medical Council (GMC)
General Dental Council (GDC)
Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
Health Professions Council (HPC)
General Osteopathic Council (GOsC)
General Chiropractic Council (GCC)
