Inform Your Doctor

The philosophy of Integrated Medicine involves combining the safest and most effective combination of approaches and treatments from the world of conventional and complementary medicine (CAM), for each individual patient. Many patients are already on some form of conventional medical treatment, for conditions such as high blood pressure or high cholesterol levels. This means that when you visit me for osteopathic treatment, acupuncture or homeopathy, you will be integrating CAM with your conventional medicine.

I always ask my patients to let me know what other conventional medical treatments they may be undertaking, or what medications they are on – when we discuss their medical history. This is because there may be general health issues I need to be aware of before carrying out my assessment and treatment of a patient. But it is up to you to inform your doctor of any treatment you are receiving outside the NHS.

I cannot contact your doctor for information about you without your consent; and likewise, he or she cannot provide me with any information unless you specifically request this. For more information on NHS Confidentiality and Health Records, please click here

If you would like to provide your doctor with further information, please either:

  1. Give your doctor the details of this website, to read more about the different forms on complementary medicine I provide
  2. Or, ask me for this information at your appointment session
